I felt that he is watching,
A vigilant man incapable of letting go.
Despite our promises of holding
On, I hold the compulsion on lay siege to
His being—though I do adore him still.

If we could only sound our thoughts
Sans tension and past recollection of injustice—
With ill thoughts and misconceptions free
From once adjoined hands.

If those conditions could be met
I’d make the tender effort to love him.
